It seems I now have a new game to look forward to this holiday season after all: Diablo 3 is coming to the Switch in November. I’ve never played any of the games in the series but have always found them interesting from afar, especially this one with its WoW-esque elements that ought to make it easier to get into. It’ll definitely be less of a leap than trying to get into the Skyrim port (which I’m still waffling over, nearly a year later).

Update on what is now Tropical Storm Gordon: New Orleans looks like it will escape the worst of it, but even so I’ll be spending a few days in Natchitoches. The sole remnant of French colonial presence in northern Louisiana and in fact the oldest permanent European settlement in the state, Natchitoches qualifies as just barely tolerable rural environs for someone like me. I don’t have any relatives among the Cane River Créoles who live up there, but really that’s for the best. Nothing involving my (living) relations ever ends well.
Blog activity may be temporarily suspended on account of tropical activity. We have now entered the last segment of Louisiana summer, the one where there’s a threat of imminent death by inundation almost every other week.
So much for Decadence this year, because realistically my schedule won’t allow for it. On the plus side, I’ll be saving a fair bit of money and an even greater amount of sweat at the expense of likely mediocre (but plentiful) dick.
I lost all of the gaming content on my PC when it crashed in June: WoW, a handful of Steam games, and a bunch of emulated older FE and Pokémon titles. It’s telling that the only game I’ve gone through the trouble of getting back so far is FE4.
Tomorrow I can go back to using Tumblr on my desktop. No more weird formatting issues to wrestle with.
Under a cut for not especially serious reasons.
Who just had an NSA hookup for the first time in months? This guy.
The nipple play and ass biting was fun, but as with rather a lot of guys who are into watersports in theory my partner of the hour couldn’t perform on command when needed.
I’m off to pick up my preorder for Octopath Traveler in about an hour. I haven’t been hyped for a game like this since FE15.
I quit one of my jobs today. It was surprisingly anticlimactic.
So now that I’ve gotten to play Darkest Dungeon properly, I can say I’m glad that I got to try it out even if I recognize that the game isn’t really for me on account of its difficulty. It wouldn’t be so bad if save scumming, the traditional method of circumventing permadeath in FE, were possible, but it’s really not. I’ll still keep poking at it, if only because it’s a little over a week until Octopath Traveler comes out.
