I feel vaguely guilty for having much of my online time taken away from Tumblr now that I’ve just discovered a most thorough and hilarious recap of a most heinous book series I’ve never read (though I was dragged to the last two movies by a former friend with outlandishly poor taste in just about everything – I only went with it the second time as a literal penance after my confessor chided me for being cruel and hateful to the less fortunate, and since said friend is not French he clearly counts as less fortunate).  Bashing terrible things is fun, yay!

And I still have no idea what to do on Tumblr until S5 info picks up.

Back to the parades for a bit, with tomorrow being the Feast of St. Patrick and Wednesday the Feast of St. Joseph and those two being major days for Irish and Italian Catholics respectively.  I’m not sure if I’ll go as it’s nowhere near as big as Carnival (and I’m neither Irish nor Italian), but I suppose it wouldn’t hurt to show some support for the non-Creole Catholics that have made harassing Anglos in New Orleans marginally easier in the century and a half since they arrived here.

I’m going to have to wait until tomorrow to finish off the AU series thing, as it’s rather late already and I was unexpectedly busy this evening.

Also I’ve gotten the random urge to read Perciver fics – truly the most random of all my ships.

The beignets somehow turned into shrimp yesterday (this particular lover is going on a diet for Carême; mercifully, seafood isn’t excluded), but the good news is that all those silly AU ideas have mostly flown off.  Hooray!

Waking up to all these Oscar posts…I knew of course that 12 Years a Slave was set in Anglo northern Louisiana, but I didn’t know that Jared Leto was from there too so no wonder I’d never heard of him until now or that Dallas Buyers Club had a québécois director.  I certainly question his taste if he’s making a film originally in English, and even worse one set in Texas of all places.

Eh bien.  It’s Lundi Gras and I have crowds to fight, wine and cocktails to drink, and Anglos to terrify.  Carnival’s almost over…
