36. What first catches your eye?

For my, ahem, work, it’s where a man offers to take me to dinner…or if he even offers at all. For pure physicality it’s all in the face.

29. What’s a compliment you’d love to receive from a boy?

I am often complimented on my eyes, hair, flexibility, tightness (yes, in that way), education, and wry attitude, so something else would be nice. I’m always amused when anyone says that I’m kind or considerate or the like.

16. What’s your favorite cologne smell?

I’m not sure I have a favorite, though I don’t care for citrus scents generally.

1. Do you like resting your head in a boys lap, or on his shoulder?

On his shoulder, unless it’s a prelude or followup to fellatio.

14. Do you like boys taller or shorter than you?

Taller. A little shorter is fine, but any more than about a dozen centimeters or so and the angling can get kind of strange.

15. Do you prefer hand kisses, or nose kisses?

Not overly fond of either, though both have their uses: hand kisses as an elaborate public display, and nose kisses during foreplay in interludes when you’re thinking of something more interesting to do with your mouth.

Which French king would be the best to have as a lover?

Tough question. Louis XV was famously quite good to his lovers, and then there’s the weak-willed and therefore easily controlled Louis XIII. I’d have rather had the famously gay brother of Louis XIV than than the man himself for obvious reasons. Then there Henri II, who per Ever After was quite a catch and did try (unsuccessfully) to suppress Protestantism.

This is also the part where I admit to not having an encyclopedic knowledge of French kings, not even their sexual proclivities. As one of my grandfathers liked to say, the architects of 1789 and as such the greatest critics of monarchy were of our own set – even as the Revolution indirectly led to the ruin of Louisiana.

if you were living the life of your dreams right now, what would you be doing?

In France – I’d make regular trips to Paris, but I think that I’m too much of a provincial at heart to live in the capital full time – with the wealth of my ancestors and an assortment of lovers of varying degrees of utility and attractiveness, fluent in my language and just connected enough to society to matter. I should also like my burial in a Parisian cemetery arranged, especially if it’s one I can tie into one of my relatives or another.

is beauty identical with goodness or not?

Absolutely not. In fact some of my favorite characters and set pieces in fiction involve beauty masking cruelty and amorality, and that’s a mindset I pursue (with mixed results) in my own life, acknowledging as I do that I am not a “good” person by Catholic or any other moral standards.

This anon is especially apropos at the moment as I’m currently working my way through WoW’s Nightborne storyline, which heavily involves this paradox and could probably be the subject of an entire self-indulgent post wherein I wax at length on why elves in fantasy fiction speak to my cultural identity and self-image…though I’d have to do that when sober.
