Clearly the team behind Heroes doesn’t have any fresh ideas for an Easter banner if they’ve gone back to bunny suits. They should do a nod to the clerical characters in the game (Lucius and…um…who else is in Heroes?), unless explicitly acknowledging pseudo-Catholicism for a nominally Catholic but kind of pagan holiday would be too on the nose.

If you’re still doing it, 🔥 + FE10

I like the army switching, weird availability issues and all. When I’m drafting it makes things more interesting than the gradual accumulation of units in most other games. There are also units with limited availability even though they show up fairly early on that need to be worked around if one is aiming to use them long term.

if you’re still doing these: 🔥+ Jugdral games

I still don’t really get why Finn/Lachesis was/is such a big deal. Yeah, it makes sense that people would ship it, but to the extent that it was one side of the series’s first big ship war when the two of them never even talk in either game? Why not pit Beowulf/Lachesis against her feelings for Eldigan or either of her other predestined options, except that Finn is in FE5 (where he’s being accused of having been cold to Lachesis and isn’t the one promising to hunt her down after the war) and those other guys aren’t? In particular I feel like Noishe hits the same upstanding knight tropes without all the mess that goes down later in Thracia. Is it really just because FE5 implies that Lachesis slept with more than one man?

🔥for Shadow Dragon?

I’ve already made it known that I think it’s the worst of the games I’ve played (so not FE1-3), and I’m not sure how many people would agree with that. One thing I don’t like to get into is the argument I’ve seen crop up a few times over whether it was the Tellius games or this game that almost killed the series to the point that New Mystery was never localized and Awakening pulled what it did to reboot things. It’s so difficult to directly compare Tellius to Shadow Dragon – existing on very different platforms and appealing to very differing audiences (Tellius not being a remake of course, but also one clearly more inspired by Jugdral) – that it feels like an easy excuse to bash particular sides of this already fragmented fandom. Even I can admit that the GameCube and Wii weren’t great platforms for FE games.

fire emoji for FE5?

More of an unpopular opinion for what to focus on in a remake, but here goes. Something that bugged me about characterization in Thracia, particularly in early game, is that there’s little sense of the class divide between Leif, Finn, and Nanna and the rest of the characters aside from Leif’s little gaffe after Chapter 8 when he wonders why the people turn to banditry. Logically with Leif and Nanna being groomed to rule as they are there ought to be some palpable distance between them and Eyvel’s militia, but it’s just not there and it makes it harder for me to connect to them as fallen (more accurately dispossessed) aristocrats.

Legend of Korra 🔥

Does shipping Wuko count? If not, then I’ll go with that I prefer Book 4 to 3 – partially because of Wu but also because Kuvira is a more interesting antagonist and I find the arcs of the main cast more compelling in that one. It’s been a while since I’ve rewatched the show, but I can barely recall Asami or Mako doing anything of note in Book 3. I think that’s the season when Mako and Bolin find their family, but even that fell pretty flat.

🔥Majora’s Mask?

The Anju and Kafei sidequest is nowhere near as complex as it’s talked up to be. It’s the most involved sidequest in the game, but if you’re only doing the bare minimum to complete it there’s only about five specific times in a cycle where you have to do something, and except for mailing a letter and infiltrating Sakon’s hideout they’re all just interacting with NPCs in Clock Town. Not that it’s a bad sidequest mind you, but the real, less-discussed tedium of the sequence comes from the mutually exclusive events tangentially related to it.

🔥 Breath of the Wild

That I don’t mind weapon durability is unpopular enough, but that’s also a very common controversy. One that’s more obscure is that I wish that the regions uncovered by towers could have been partitioned off on the map even after discovering them, to make it easier to divide up content for completionist types like myself. I would have liked that as a minor map improvement much more than the path tracking that we actually got.

🔥FE15?

Conrad isn’t that bad of an addition. He’s not in the same league as Berkut and Fernand but aside from that one time when he slaps Celica (and since I recently replayed the first half of Awakening I got to recall the time when Sumia punches Chrom in the face, so casual abuse between playable characters is apparently just a Thing in 3DS era FE) he never does anything too egregious. The thought that he was added specifically to give Valentia some incest subtext it was otherwise missing is hilarious. I just wish there was a stronger explanation for why he’s not even considered for the throne. I assume we’re supposed to accept that it’s because Celica has the Brand and he doesn’t, but it’s never addressed at all.
